Sample Rendition Profile
For my Sister Becky & Her Family!

I want to do a Rendition for my sister, Becky (and include her family in it.) Becky and I did not get along too well as kids. I’m one year older and she thought my parents liked me more than they liked her. It was not true but she believed it. She also thought that I was very spoiled, which there may have been some truth to. Now, we’re both married and we each have two children of our own. She has two boys, Michael and Joseph, and I have a girl, Julie, and a boy, Nicky. I’d like to get our families together more often because time goes by so fast, and I adore the little ones, who all get along very well together. I want to get closer to Becky through our families. Julie, my daughter, is a bit bossy and Michael, her son, can’t sit still. I think it’s fun watching them interact. (They are both 7 years old.)  Nicky and Joseph are 9 and 10. Nicky is a great student, and Joe is only interested in sports. Becky and I used to sing our own words to a song when we were little and whenever adults heard it they said we sang really well together. I still sing that song to myself, especially when I see Becky. I’d like to see Becky and her family more often, as often as possible, and would like a Rendition about this. One more thing… I’m thinking about the coming adolescent years with lots of trepidation, and I want to have Becky by my side as we go through that stage.

To my Sister Becky, and her Family

You know when we were little, we didn’t get along
‘Cause you thought I was spoiled, and couldn’t do no wrong
But, Becky now we’re older, and wiser by the day
We learn things from our children, when watching how they play

When Julie yells at Michael, because he can’t sit still
We laugh at how his promises will never fit the bill
‘Cause Michael likes to fidget, he’ll always be that way
It’s not a thing that Mike can change no matter what we say

And Joseph’s quite an athlete, while Nicky’s great at school
Joe likes his sports intensely, but not The Golden Rule
These tendencies are awesome, they’re in their very genes
We’ll see the changes in their hearts, as they approach their teens

The teenage years are tricky, I’m not sure how I’ll cope
From what I hear, you’ll never see a slipperier slope
But you’ll be there to help me, and I’ll be there for you
‘Cause those will be the toughest years and “Who knows what to do?”

I love the song we used to sing when we were nine and eight
The grownups said the harmony we made was really great
Now I’m no longer spoiled, and often I am wrong
And when we are together now, I hum our favorite song

So let’s be very mindful, that time will pass by fast
And get our kids together, and watch them have a blast
Perhaps you’ll come to visit, ‘cause now our hearts have softened
Like maybe every Sunday, or possibly more often

From our Family to Yours,
Fred, Jackie, Julie and Nicky
