Rendition Profile for Our Dad:
Our Dad is warm hearted, easy going, and sweet. We could not ask for any more in a father. We love him more than words could ever say. But he worries about everything, especially us, his two children, Cathy and Steve. He worries if I go skiing, if either me or Cathy drive in the rain, if we “look too thin," or that we don’t have enough money. If there’s anything he can find to worry about, he will. Cathy said that the only way he will not worry is if we never leave our homes, but I doubt that too. We want to write something playful to him that pokes a bit of fun at how much he worries about us, while we tell him we love him.

  Our Dear Old Dad
We very rarely say this, but hopefully you know
How much we really love you, and how you helped us grow But we just need to tell you, that you can drive us nuts What’s weird is that the cause of this, is never over much The problem has to do with, the worrying you do For anywhere we go in life, and all that we pursue We’re not sure how you figure, how so much can go wrong But when we think about it, you’ve done it all lifelong If God-forbid I’m skiing, or Cathy loses weight You’ll somehow find a way to fear some less-than-cheerful fate You’re fearful when it’s raining, that if we drive we’ll crash Or that we’ll wind up hungry, the day we have no cash At times we feel we’re guilty, of giving you such fear And so we pray the fears you have, will one day disappear Now Cathy has a good idea, to make your fears subside That she and I will stay at home, and never go outside! I told her you’d still worry, although you’ve come so far And it’s important that you know, we love you as you are!
