"My Country, America"

For a long time now, I've met so many people who live here in America who put our country down. They do not see the good things. Since I think this is the greatest country in the world and that all other countries want to be like us, I would like a Rendition that tells about America from my standpoint. I know that taxes are high, but I think we get a lot for them. The people who live in America take many things for granted such as freedome of religion, freedom I realize of the press, Many people complain about immigration, but where would America be with it? All of our ancestors are immigrants. It's safe to fly accross the country due to the FAA, and the Armed forces do not get enough credit. America's Army, Airforce, Navy and Marines are the greatest in the world and every member will give his or her life for me. People born and raised here in America can learn alot from people living overseas, as it's the foreigners who know more about how great it is over here. Since we live in a democratic society, not everyone will get what they want, but they will always get a chance to vote.  I love My Country, America!

     

    

    

     

   

 

   
 

 

My Country, America
 

I think about my country now, and every time I do
I want to state my feelings but I never follow through
So this time I’ll be different, and I’m specifying here
That things are so much better now than many of us fear
 
The things we take for granted are so many things indeed
Like practicing religion, irregardless of our creed
And as for Immigration, all those workers in the plants
We wouldn’t be America, if not for immigrants
 
And what about our Liberties, and Freedom of the Press
To say the things we really feel that no one can suppress
And other kinds of Freedoms, such as dressing how we like
Or challenging our bosses ‘cause we have the right to strike
 
We say we dislike taxes, that the rates are way too high
But when we look at what we get, there’s more than meets the eye
We overlook the services our government supplies
Like how the FAA maintains the safety of our skies
 
And what about the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines
The sacrifices they endure are made behind the scenes
They give their lives for freedom - it’s the freedom we should LOVE
We need to give our hearts and souls to them in honor of
 
Our country’s still the leader, and The World cannot deny
That others want to be like us, but they can only try
Although there’s many people now who think our country’s flawed
The ones who want to live here most are those who live abroad
 
‘Cause when you think about it, now, we really have it all 
We’re not a country heading for a monumental fall
Instead, I think our nation’s getting better every day
We’re not about to let our country’s greatness slip away
 
I know we have our problems here, but how else can it be?
‘Cause we maintain Democracy the heart of Liberty
And when we place our votes to put the leaders in their place
We get a chance to give ourselves a needed change of pace
 
I think about my country and my eyes begin to mist  
My sense of pride so deep inside can never be dismissed
‘Cause when I do my traveling, no matter where I roam
I’m proud to call America my true, beloved home!
