Profile of Cindy: My daughter, Cindy is graduating from high school. I want to tell her how proud we are of her because she made the college of her choice (Stanford). To get into that school, she needed to be a great student receiving the highest grades, and an all-around successful individual. She also played basketball in high school which took up a tremendous amount of her time each day, leaving her with little time for the other things she likes to do in life. For instance, she likes being with her friends, enjoying time on the internet, drawing, and gardening. Despite being an overachieving student and a great athlete, Cindy is usually quite down on herself and does not understand her true worth. (No one understands why this is, because aside from all her talents, she is also very attractive.) So, we want this gift to boost her up and help to make her feel good about herself.  |

We know it wasn’t easy We saw how hard you tried You studied long and hard each night And rarely went outside You managed to stay focused And to keep yourself on track It almost seemed to us as though You sought to earn this plaque! We told you as a youngster To do the best you can And then you got the highest grades By sticking to your plan We know you loved to play your sport The game of basketball You played and also read your books You gave them both your all We’re not sure how you split your time Between your many needs Your friends, your art, the Internet And planting all those seeds And on the court you led your team In scoring every game While passing off the ball so much Not wanting any fame And when you graduated You were highest in your class We couldn’t find your ego With a magnifying glass So off to college now you go ‘Cause Stanford really needs you They will not find another girl Or athlete who exceeds you!
