This Rendition is about a waitress who works for me. Her
name is Penny and the facts are below: 1. I am Charlie, the owner of Charlie's Steaks & Ribs, located at the corner of Landers Blvd. and Breezy Street in Chicago. 2. Penny has been working for me for 2 years. 3. Penny is a great waitress, the best one (by far) that I have had in the 10 years I have owned Charlie's Steaks & Ribs. 4. Not only does Penny work more hours than anyone else in the place, (including me), she has patrons who will wait for her to serve them (for as long as it takes!) 5. She was divorced from her husband, Fred 3 years ago. It's obvious that she still loves him but she will not admit it. 6. Her son, Nick is her treasure and the center of her life. Nicky is 7 years old. 7. Penny is about 32 years old and very pretty. I can’t believe I'm admitting this now but I am in love with her and I have been since she started working here. 8. Fred, her ex, was crazy to leave her. 9. She owns a dog, named Raccoon. It looks more like a t Racoon than a dog. She brought it to work once. 10. She is planning to get rid of Racoon because she cannot maintain it as a single mom. She knows Nicky will beh heartbroken when she does this and that is why she has not done it already. 11. Her goal now is to take Nicky on a cruise to Hawaii. She has been saving her money for 18 months now. She’s doing this as a way to make up for her need to get rid of Racoon. 12. She does not know how attracted to her I am. I will be getting divorced soon and I want to date her. She would never date a married man. 13. Other adjectives that describe Penny are: Patient, friendly, funny, organized, intelligent and efficient. 14. My accountant, Jack, who is in the restaurant often, knows that I am lready in love with Penny. 15. If you refer to me, you can use Charles, Charlie, Chuck or Chuckie. I usually call her Penny, but you can also use Pen, or Penelope. She calls her son Nick, Nicholas and Nicky.  |
  Penny is My Angel At Charlie’s Steaks & Ribs there works a girl who’s “Oh, so rare” A waitress full of spunk and charm where no one can compare She dazzles all the patrons with her patient, friendly way They all want Penny for their waitress each and every day See, I’m the owner of the place, I’m Chuck, so I should know I fell in love with Penny on the day we said “Hello!” Her son is Nick and I can see he’s Penny’s pride and joy These last two years she worked so hard, all for her little boy! “And Fred was nuts to leave this girl!” I just don’t comprehend ‘Cause Penny is the type of girl you keep until the end But getting her to notice me despite her broken heart Has been a daunting challenge and my mission from the start For on her mind are other things, and not the likes of me Her son is most important now, and there I do agree And currently she’s worried ‘bout her son’s beloved pet His name’s Raccoon, he needs a home ‘cause ends just haven’t met She knows that it will break his heart to give his dog away And so she’s hoping that a cruise will keep his tears at bay So Penny’s saving for the tour, a nice Hawaiian cruise Because she knows that this is what her little boy would choose She puts a lot of hours in and works as hard as me. When asked she says it’s all because she’s eyeing Waikiki I pay her overtime to get her earnings up to speed If ONLY she would notice that it’s her I want and need! Now Jack is our accountant and he notes how hard I try He’ll say, “Just look at Charlie and that sparkle in his eye!” I hope and pray that she’ll slow down and one day understand And maybe see what’s in my heart and how I’ve played my hand But who can blame me?
